Will it be possible to play Final Fantasy XIV on Japanese servers if outside of Japan?

I live in Taiwan right now.

When FFXIV comes out, I want to play it on Japanese servers, not Taiwanese servers. The reason for this is that my Chinese is awful, and I want to practice my Japanese.

You could as I doubt if one lives in a area unsupported by square Enix (say Ecuador), they're going tohave to sign up on a foreign server. Money is money, so I reallydoubt they'll kick one out if they pay.
