Why is the apple ipod touch more expensive in the US Apple store than in the UK apple store?

I was looking at Ipod Touchs (8GB) and they were 199$ on the US apple store (£134) but on the UK apple store they were £152 (224$). I do not live in the US so I am buying from the UK store. Problem is, the ipod touch is out of my budget in the UK store,
