Can you use itones on non ipod mp3 players?

I am trying to decide to get an ipod or mp3 (non Ipod) player. I know Ipod are mp3 players with added apps. I just didn't know about mp3 players how you get the music. Ipod you can buy cards at walmart to use but what about other mp3 players or can

Without any changes, you can't use iTunes without an ipod/iphone. But i remember reading an article on www.pcworld.com i believe that can change that so itunes accepts any mp3 player. i'm afraid you'll have to look for yourself on that though. But it
