The rather popular Palm Centro will be sold via Verizon for $99 (after a rebate). A good, clear price point, and Verizon subscription plans are available for as little as $30 per month. The Centro is now available via three of the four major US carrier and will likely also be picked up by T-Mobile.But perhaps the real news here is the Facebook app.

The good: The Palm Centro sheds some of the weight and bulk of Palm Treo to make for a more compact smartphone. It also carries an attractive price tag and offers a lot for the money, including Bluetooth, EV-DO support, push e-mail, and a suite of productivity apps.

(1 diggs) Palm Centro. Should you get one?
The Palm Centro is Palm's newest smartphone. It has a lot of features and a large selection of apps. However, Palm OS is a very dated platform. It's kinda buggy and probably wont be around much longer. Though it's a good enough phone to keep you happy until Palm releases their next Linux based OS.
