why are my wma files not transfering to my ipod in itunes?

in itunes, the mp3s are transfering to my ipod, but wma files are not. they usually convert themselves to aac files but now its not doing it anymore. now i get an error message that says i dont have permission to change the files because i dont have write

itunes = apple
