Can i download songs from Limewire or other sites and put em on my iphone?

I wanna buy the new 16G iphone and was wondering if I could download from various sites and put em on the iphone. And how many songs can i put in the 16G. And will it corrupt the iphone

Yes, as long as they are one of the following filetypes: AAC, Protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV, MP4
