Can I get wireless internet service on my laptop if I travel with it internationally?

I will be taking a short trip to the UK soon and will be bringing my brand new laptop. I have a Verizon Router in the USA and already know that the Verizon network does not work there. What are my options for getting service everywhere?

You'll be pretty limited to using WiFi access points, unless you take out a contract with a UK provider (such as VodaFone or O2) for a 3G data plan. Not really feasable if you won't be staying. Don't worry, there's WiFi points everywhere. On trains,
