Why is my proxy server working for internet access, but the rest of the network is down?

Setup:
1 computer acting as a server, running DSL line through a USB connection
4 others networked through a Linksys EZXS88W 8 port switch.
The proxy server (for internet connections) I'm running is active, and works from
