How can I access mac in target disk mode?

I have an old PPC running OSX that has some sort of disk problem that prevents me from fully booting. I can enter target disk mode and hooked it up to a mac mini via firewire. I guess I assumed an icon for an external disk image would show up. It didn't.


Could just be that the hard drive is screwed. If it's not showing up in Target mode, check system profiler on the booted Mac. See if it recognizes anything attached to the Firewire bus. Check Disk Utility. It may see a drive, but it could be too corrupted
