I have a large sideboard (also known as server) which is a dark cherry finish - almost black?
I am looking for ideas for what to put on it. It now looks really plain. The style of the furniture is 'shaker' which is a little old fashioned. The walls are painted light gold and I do not have much around the dining set.
Start with a pair of "buffet lamps", placed on each end of the server. Hang a beautiful mirror over it that is at least half the length of the server. In other words, if the server is 70" long, the mirror length should be at least 35".
