Apple Mobile Device turns off when i connect my iPhone?

I got a new iPhone 3GS and I downloaded iTunes. When I open iTunes and connect my iPhone, Apple Mobile Device turns off and iTunes won't read my iPhone. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes but that doesn't work. I have Apple Mobile Device
